End User Licence Agreement
Please read this agreement carefully. By using Cochild, you agree to be bound by these terms.
PLEASE READ THIS END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING THE COCHILD APPLICATION. By creating an account or using any part of the Application, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.
This Agreement is written in plain language by design. We believe you have the right to understand exactly how this platform works. If anything is unclear, please contact us.
1. Parties and Definitions
This Agreement is entered into between Cochild Pte. Ltd. (UEN: 202547888Z), a company incorporated in Singapore and registered as a Social Enterprise with raiSE Singapore, having its registered address at 36 Carpenter Street #02-01 Carpenter Haus, Singapore 059915 ("Cochild", "we", "us", or "our"), and you, the individual creating an account and using the Application ("User" or "you"). Cochild® is a registered trademark of Cochild Pte. Ltd.
1.1 Definitions
- Application means the Cochild mobile application, web application, and any related services operated by Cochild Pte. Ltd.
- Account means the personal account you create to access the Application.
- Shared Record means the single record, created when a parent sets up Cochild, that links both parents and their Children in the Application and holds the information they share.
- Child / Children means any person under the age of 18 whose information is entered into the Application by a parent or guardian.
- Co-parent means the other parent or guardian with whom you share parenting responsibilities and who may also use the Application.
- Kids Mode Account means a restricted account that a parent may set up for their Child, giving the Child their own sign-in to a deliberately limited part of the Application, as described in Section 2 below.
- Content means messages, documents, photographs, schedules, records, and any other information you input into the Application.
- Court Order means any order, judgment, or direction issued by a court of competent jurisdiction relating to child custody, access, maintenance, or related matters.
- Personal Data means any information that identifies or could reasonably identify an individual, as defined under applicable data protection law.
- Welfare Signal means a proposed feature that would derive a behavioural indicator about an individual Shared Record from platform metadata (not message content), so that support could be offered to the parents and Children on it. It does not exist: no such indicator is generated and no data is shared with any agency. It would operate only with your opt-in consent, as described in the Cochild Privacy Policy.
1.2 Independence of Cochild
Cochild is an independent product of Cochild Pte. Ltd. It is not a government service, and it has not been officially endorsed or approved by any court or government agency. We are grateful for the interest and feedback we have received from professionals across the family justice and social service community, and we welcome it, but nothing in the Application or on our website should be read as official approval.
2. Eligibility and Account Registration
The Application is intended solely for adults aged 18 and above. By creating an Account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement.
A Child cannot independently register for the Application. Information relating to a Child is entered by a parent or guardian on their behalf. A parent or guardian may additionally choose to set up a Kids Mode Account for their Child, giving the Child their own restricted sign-in to a limited part of the Application (messaging with their own parents, a shared family photo album, the shared calendar and to-dos, and, only if enabled by a parent, location sharing). A Kids Mode Account cannot access payments, payment requests, court order documents, the co-parent conversation, or any other adult-only feature. The parent who sets up a Kids Mode Account is responsible for its credentials and for supervising its use, and may reset its passcode or pause its access at any time. Cochild applies heightened protection to all data relating to minors, as described in the Cochild Privacy Policy.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your Account.
Identity Verification with Singpass
Cochild may ask you to verify your identity through Singpass (Myinfo). Verification is optional, but we encourage it. You can use it instead of email verification when you link your Account to your co-parent's Shared Record. Singpass is operated by the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), and your use of it is subject to GovTech's own terms, separate from this Agreement. Cochild never sees your Singpass password or other Singpass credentials. You may verify only your own identity through Singpass, and any information you choose to share with us through it must be accurate. See the Cochild Privacy Policy for what is retrieved through Singpass and Myinfo and how it is used.
3. Licence Grant
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, Cochild grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install, and use the Application on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial co-parenting purposes.
This licence does not permit you to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicence the Application or any part of it
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application
- use the Application to develop a competing product or service
- use the Application for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates this Agreement
- access or attempt to access another user's Account without authorisation
4. Subscriptions and Billing
Use of the Application by a parent or guardian is offered as an auto-renewing subscription ("Cochild Monthly"). Each parent or guardian requires their own separate subscription — a Cochild Monthly subscription is not shared between co-parents, and a parent's subscription does not extend to their co-parent's Account. Kids Mode Accounts remain free and are never billed, as described in Section 4.5. A subscription is required to use the Application as a parent or guardian, and there is no free tier (see Sections 4.6 and 4.7). This section sets out the subscription terms in the form required by the Apple App Store and Google Play.
4.1 Subscription Plan and Price
- Title: Cochild Monthly
- Length: 1 month, automatically renewing
- Price: SGD 9.98 per month, billed at the start of each monthly period unless cancelled beforehand.
The price displayed to you at checkout may differ from the SGD amount above. The App Store or Google Play converts and displays pricing according to your region, applicable local taxes, and their own pricing tiers, so the amount actually charged is the one shown to you at the time of purchase.
4.2 Free Trial
A new subscriber may be offered a one-month free trial on their first subscription to Cochild Monthly. The free trial is available once per user and does not apply if you have previously subscribed to Cochild Monthly. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a Cochild Monthly subscription, where applicable.
4.3 Payment and Auto-Renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase or, if you begin with a free trial, at the end of the trial period unless you have cancelled before then. Your subscription automatically renews for successive one-month periods at the price then in effect unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
4.4 Managing, Cancelling, and Refunding Your Subscription
Your subscription is billed and managed by Apple or Google, not by Cochild directly. You can review, manage, or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, at any time from your account settings on the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) after purchase. Cochild does not have access to your payment details and cannot itself process cancellations or refunds; refund requests should be directed to Apple or Google in accordance with their respective terms.
4.5 Subscriptions and Kids Mode
A Cochild Monthly subscription is purchased through, billed to, and managed from the parent's or guardian's own Account. It is never billed to, or manageable from, a Kids Mode Account, and a Child using a Kids Mode Account cannot purchase, modify, or cancel a subscription. See Section 13 (Children's Data and Kids Mode) for how Kids Mode Accounts are otherwise handled.
Although a Kids Mode Account has no subscription of its own, a Child's messaging in Kids Mode works only while at least one parent or guardian on the Child's Shared Record has an active subscription. If none does, messaging stops working for the Child until a parent subscribes again.
4.6 Subscription Required; When a Subscription Ends
A subscription is required to use the Application as a parent or guardian. There is no free tier. The only exception is any free trial offered under Section 4.2, during which you have the same access as a subscriber.
If you do not have an active subscription, for example because you have not yet subscribed, or because your subscription has been cancelled or has ended, access to the Application is locked. You can reach only the Subscription screen (to subscribe or restore a purchase), your Account screen (to sign out or delete your Account), and Help. Everything else is unavailable until you subscribe again.
Your data is kept, not deleted, while access is locked, and it is available again when you resubscribe. Data is deleted only as described in the Cochild Privacy Policy, for example when you delete your Account.
4.7 One Subscription, One Account
A subscription belongs to the Cochild Account that bought it. It cannot be shared with your co-parent or used by another Cochild Account, and a purchase is tied to the Account it was made in, so one Apple Account or Google Play account cannot be used to cover two Cochild Accounts. "Restore purchases" restores a subscription only into the Account that bought it.
5. Artificial Intelligence Features
The Application uses artificial intelligence to provide several features. This section explains what those features do, how they work, and their limitations.
5.1 AI Message Moderation
Before a message is sent to your co-parent, it is analysed by Cochild's AI moderation system. The purpose of this analysis is to filter hostile or harmful language, protect your children from parental conflict communicated through the platform, and support more constructive co-parenting communication.
The moderation system may take one of three actions:
- Pass the message through without modification
- Suggest a rewritten version of the message for your review and approval
- Block the message and explain why it was not sent
You retain full control. Rewritten messages are never sent automatically. You may review, edit, or reject any suggested rewrite. A blocked message is never delivered to your co-parent. The blocked message's text and the reason it was blocked are stored, encrypted, so that you can review the decision — this record is never shared with your co-parent.
Note: AI moderation is an automated process. The new message's text, together with a number of recent messages from that conversation included as context for tone and meaning, is sent to Anthropic, our AI processor, to carry it out — only the new message is itself moderated, rewritten, or blocked. Message content is encrypted at rest, although Cochild holds the encryption keys, and it is never used to train AI models. No Cochild employee, government official, or other third party routinely reads the content of your messages. Cochild staff access content only where strictly necessary to investigate a reported problem, or where required by law.
5.2 Court Order Parsing
You may upload a court order in PDF format. Cochild's AI will extract key information including the names of parties, details of children, access schedules, and maintenance obligations. This parsed data is presented for your field-by-field review before it is used to populate your schedule.
Your Confirmation Responsibility
Before your schedule is created, you will be presented with a Court Order Confirmation screen displaying each parsed element alongside the relevant section of your uploaded document. You are required to review and explicitly confirm the accuracy of each of the following elements before proceeding:
- the full legal names of both parents or guardians
- the name and date of birth of each child named in the order
- the access schedule, including days, times, and any special arrangements
- the maintenance amount, payment frequency, and payment due dates
- any other obligations or conditions extracted from the order
You must correct any inaccuracy before confirming. Each field is editable at the confirmation stage. By tapping "Confirm and Set Up Schedule", you declare that the information displayed accurately reflects your court order. Cochild records the date and time of your confirmation as part of your compliance audit trail.
Cochild does not guarantee the accuracy of AI-extracted data. We are not responsible for errors, omissions, or consequences arising from information that you have confirmed as accurate, or from illegible, incomplete, or ambiguous court order documents. The responsibility for the accuracy of your schedule rests with you.
Varied or replacement orders: If your court order is varied or replaced by a new order, you must upload the new order and complete the confirmation process again. A new confirmation supersedes the previous one and generates a new entry in your compliance audit trail. Your co-parent will be notified within the Application that the schedule has been updated. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Application reflects the most current order at all times.
The PDF file itself never leaves your device. The Application reads the text of the document on your device (including scanned pages), removes NRIC/FIN numbers, email addresses, and Singapore phone numbers written with the +65 country code from that text, and sends only the resulting text to Anthropic for parsing. That text still includes the names of the parties and children, the access schedule, and the maintenance terms, because the parsing cannot work without them, and other numbers and details in the document are not removed. If the Application cannot read enough text from a PDF to remove those identifiers reliably, it does not send it and asks you to enter your details manually. Cochild does not keep the PDF in a document vault. The details you confirm are stored with your Shared Record. Court order content is not shared with any other third party except as described in the Cochild Privacy Policy.
5.3 Kin AI Assistant
The Application includes Kin, an optional AI assistant available to parents. Kin can hold a supportive conversation and may proactively check in with you based on signals such as an upcoming access handover or an overdue maintenance payment. Kin is never made available within a Kids Mode Account.
Every message you send Kin is sent to Anthropic, our AI processor, together with a pseudonymised summary of your situation, so Kin can generate its reply; see the Cochild Privacy Policy, Sections 4 and 6, for what this summary contains.
If you allow it when asked, Kin can also read the calendar items you can see: their titles, categories, dates, times, and places, who each is for, your children's first names, and the age a child turns on a birthday. These are sent to Anthropic together with what you ask. Kin never reads notes. Kin only prepares drafts: nothing is added to your calendar until you tap Save. If you choose Not now, Kin does not see your calendar.
Every message you send Kin is automatically screened for signs that you may be in crisis. If detected, Kin responds with a fixed message directing you to appropriate support services rather than continuing the conversation automatically, and Cochild logs that a crisis-level message occurred, using a hashed reference to your account and a timestamp only — never the content of the message. Kin is not a substitute for professional mental health support, and if you are in crisis or in danger, you should contact emergency services or a crisis hotline directly.
You may turn Kin off at any time from Settings, except while a crisis-support message is actively being shown to you.
5.4 Child Location
If you set up a Kids Mode Account for your Child, you may separately choose to enable location sharing. Location sharing is off by default. Outside a scheduled access period, only an approximate location (accurate to roughly 3 kilometres) is ever calculated; your Child's precise location is calculated only during an active, scheduled access period, and is never retained outside that window. The trail of past locations is kept for 7 days and then automatically deleted; your Child's single most recent shared location is kept only for as long as sharing stays enabled. Depending on your Child's age, changing location sharing settings may require your Child's own agreement, your co-parent's agreement, or both, as described in the Cochild Privacy Policy. The Application does not perform continuous background location tracking — location is only captured while the Kids Mode app is open in the foreground, or on a manual check-in.
5.5 AI Content is Not Legal Advice
Nothing in the Application, including any AI-generated summary, suggestion, explanation, or output, constitutes legal advice. The Application is a co-parenting management tool, not a legal service. You should always seek independent legal advice for matters relating to your court proceedings.
5.6 AI Limitations and Human Judgement
Cochild's AI systems are designed to assist, not to replace human judgement. AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate to your specific circumstances. You should apply your own judgement to any AI-generated content and contact us if you believe the system has behaved incorrectly.
5.7 Not Medical, Mental Health, or Legal Advice
Nothing in the Application constitutes medical advice, mental health advice, or legal advice, however it is presented — whether as AI-generated content, a harmony score or other indicator shown on the Harmoniser screen, a wellbeing check-in, or any other feature of the Application. The Application is a co-parenting management tool. It is not a medical, mental health, or legal service, and no part of it is designed or intended to diagnose, treat, or assess any medical or mental health condition, or to provide a legal opinion.
Any legal action and any medical or mental health concern is your own responsibility. You should consult a qualified legal advisor for any legal matter, and a qualified medical or mental health professional for any health or wellbeing concern, including anything suggested by a harmony score, stress indicator, or other signal shown in the Application. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact emergency services or a crisis hotline directly; see Section 5.3 for how Kin responds to a detected crisis.
5.8 Receipt Reading, Calendar Notes, and Payment Request Text
Receipts, quotes, and proof of payment. If you attach a receipt, quote, or proof of payment to a payment or a payment request and allow it when asked, the file is sent to Anthropic's Claude (Haiku model) to read details such as the amount, date, currency, and vendor or payee. You confirm or edit every detail, and you can enter them yourself instead. A file can show other personal information, including about your Child; please remove anything you do not want processed before you attach it. Cochild does not guarantee the accuracy of what is read.
Calendar notes. When a parent adds a note to a calendar event or to-do that their co-parent or Children can see, the note is checked by the same AI moderation as messages (Section 5.1), shown in the Application as "Cochild AI". Only the note text is sent. Notes that only their author can see, and notes written by a Child, are not checked. If the check cannot run, the note is not saved. This check cannot be switched off.
Payment request text. See Section 15.6.
6. User Responsibilities
By using the Application, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information at all times, including during the court order upload and confirmation process
- Use the Application in good faith and in the best interests of your children
- Not use compliance logs, communication records, or any data generated by the Application to harass, intimidate, or unfairly disadvantage your co-parent
- Not attempt to manipulate or circumvent the AI moderation system
- Not upload documents you do not have the right to share
- Enter details about your co-parent, including a court order, only where you are entitled to share them. These can be entered before your co-parent joins the Application, as described in the Cochild Privacy Policy
- Notify us promptly if you become aware of any unauthorised access to your Account
- Take care over what you copy into your phone's calendar. Copying calendar items into your phone's calendar is optional and one-way. The copies are then held by your phone and by any calendar account it syncs to, such as iCloud, outside Cochild's control, and a parent can choose generic titles to keep titles, notes, and places out of them
Cochild reserves the right to suspend or terminate Accounts found to be in breach of these responsibilities.
7. Intellectual Property
The Application, including its design, code, AI systems, and all proprietary technology, is owned by Cochild Pte. Ltd. and is protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in this Agreement transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
You retain ownership of the Content you create. By uploading Content to the Application, you grant Cochild a limited licence to process and store that Content solely for the purpose of providing the Application's features to you.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Application is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Cochild does not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, Cochild's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Cochild in the twelve months preceding the claim, or S$100, whichever is greater.
Cochild is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of opportunity, or emotional distress, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Given the sensitive nature of family justice matters, we strongly recommend that you maintain independent copies of important documents and do not rely solely on the Application for the storage of critical information.
9. Termination
You may terminate this Agreement at any time by deleting your Account. Upon termination, your licence to use the Application ceases immediately.
Cochild may suspend or terminate your Account if you breach this Agreement, if continued operation poses a risk to other users or to the platform, or if we are required to do so by law.
On termination, your personal data will be handled in accordance with the Cochild Privacy Policy. Sections 7, 8, 10, and 11 survive termination.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, except as provided below.
If you are located in the European Union: nothing in this Agreement affects your rights under EU data protection law, including the GDPR. You retain the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
If you are located in the United Kingdom: the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to the processing of your personal data. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
If you are located in Australia: the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles apply. You may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) with complaints.
11. Updates to This Agreement
We may update this Agreement from time to time to reflect changes in the Application, applicable law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Application and by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
Where an update materially changes the purposes for which we collect, use, or disclose your personal data, your continued use alone will not be treated as consent. We will ask you to review and agree to the change through an in-app consent prompt before it applies to you. For other updates, your continued use of the Application after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement. If you do not accept the revised terms, you must stop using the Application and delete your Account.
12. General Provisions
Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the Cochild Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Cochild in relation to the Application and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings.
Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign this Agreement or any rights under it without our written consent. Cochild may assign this Agreement in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, provided that the assignee agrees to be bound by its terms.
13. Children's Data and Kids Mode
This section summarises how the Application handles a Child's data. The Cochild Privacy Policy contains the full detail and controls in the event of any difference between the two.
What We Collect
If you set up a Kids Mode Account for your Child, the Application collects: a display name and a parent-set username and passcode for the Child's sign-in; messages the Child sends to and receives from their own parents; photos and other items shared to the family album; events and to-dos the Child adds to the calendar, which both parents can see; and, only if you separately enable it, the Child's location, as described in Section 5.4. Kids Mode does not currently include a mood or wellbeing check-in feature.
Who Can See It
A Child's data is visible only to the two parents or guardians verified on that Child's Shared Record — never to a third party, an advertiser, or an analytics provider, and never to a co-parent on a different Shared Record.
Consent
A Child cannot register for the Application independently. By accepting this Agreement and adding a Child to your Shared Record or setting up a Kids Mode Account, you consent on your Child's behalf to the processing of their data as described here and in the Cochild Privacy Policy. For location sharing specifically, the Application additionally applies an age-tiered model giving a Child aged 13 to 15 a say in switching sharing off, and a Child aged 16 or over sole control of their own sharing setting, as described in Section 5.4 and the Cochild Privacy Policy. A Kids Mode Account itself is free to use and has no payment method or billing relationship of its own, although a Child's messaging works only while a parent has an active subscription (see Section 4.5).
Deletion and Access Requests
You may pause a Kids Mode Account or reset its passcode at any time from within the Application. To permanently delete a Child's Kids Mode Account and associated data, or to request a copy of the data we hold about your Child, contact privacy@cochild.com. We will action your request within 30 days.
14. Apple-Specific Terms (App Store Users)
If you downloaded the Application from the Apple App Store, the following terms are acknowledged by you and Cochild in addition to the rest of this Agreement, and apply to your use of the Application on an Apple-branded device:
- This Agreement is concluded between you and Cochild only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not a party to this Agreement, and Cochild, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Application and its content.
- The licence granted to you in Section 3 is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the Application on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms of Service.
- Cochild, not Apple, is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the Application. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support for the Application.
- Apple gives no warranty of any kind in respect of the Application. In the event of any failure of the Application to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the Application to you, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever in respect of the Application, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are Cochild's responsibility alone, as set out in Section 8.
- Cochild, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the Application or your possession or use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the Application fails to conform to an applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Cochild, not Apple, is responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any third-party claim that the Application, or your possession and use of it, infringes that third party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, or that has been designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party agreement when using the Application, such as your wireless data service agreement.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement, and upon your acceptance of this Agreement, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement against you as a third-party beneficiary of it.
Cochild's name, address, and contact details for the purposes of this section are set out in Section 1 and Section 16 (Contact Us).
15. Shared-Cost Payment Requests
15.1 What Payment Requests Are
Payment requests let one parent ask the other to share a cost (a "payment request": "I paid, please cover your share") or check whether the other parent agrees before committing to a cost (a "cost proposal"). They are available to parents only, in Singapore dollars only, and are never available in Kids Mode. Each request records the cost, how it is split, any receipts, quotes, or proof of payment attached, and what each parent has said and done in response.
15.2 What Cochild Is Not
Cochild only provides QR codes and payment details that can be used in your own banking app. Cochild is not a payment service provider, a payment initiator, a payment gateway, or any other kind of licensed payment provider. It does not hold, receive, transfer, or process funds, does not instruct or connect to any bank, and cannot see whether a payment was made. Any payment between parents is made in your own banking app, outside Cochild. You are responsible for checking the payment details, amount, and reference before you make a transfer. "I've paid" is the payer's own claim, and "Received" is the payee's own confirmation; Cochild does not check either.
15.3 Legal Status
Accepting a request or proposal is not a legal undertaking and is not a court order. The record is informal and is not independently certified. In the Application, accepting is described as: "By accepting, you agree to share this cost on the split shown."
15.4 Turning Payment Requests On or Off
Payment requests are on by default and work only when both parents have them on. Either parent can switch them off, which stops new requests and proposals for both, and neither parent is told which of them did. Requests already in progress can still be answered, paid, confirmed, and cancelled. Each change to your own switch is recorded, with when it was made and its previous value, in a record that only Cochild's systems can read.
15.5 Subscription and Reminders
A subscription is required to start, reply to, or pay a request (Section 4.6); you can switch payment requests off without one. We send at most one reminder for each stage of a request, using generic push notification text.
15.6 AI Checks and Receipt Reading
Every free-text field in a request or reply, including titles, notes, and any note with a decline, a suggestion, or a "not received" reply, is checked by Cochild's AI moderation (Section 5.1), shown in the Application as "Cochild AI". Nothing is saved if the check cannot run. This check cannot be switched off. Receipts and quotes you attach are read by AI only if you allow it when asked (Section 5.8).
15.7 Your Data and Compliance Reports
A request and its files are part of your Shared Record. Your co-parent sees your name and PayNow mobile number from the moment you send a request. Requests are kept and deleted as described in the Cochild Privacy Policy (Sections 1 and 7). Compliance reports you generate include a "Shared expense requests" section, which leaves out notes and PayNow numbers.

Version History
- 1.13 (25 October 2026) — Added Section 1.2 (Independence of Cochild), stating that Cochild is an independent product and is not a government service or officially endorsed or approved by any court or government agency. No other change to the Agreement.
- 1.12 (25 October 2026) — Brought the Agreement into line with the Application. Subscriptions (Section 4): added that a subscription is required and there is no free tier, what is reachable and what is kept when access is locked (new 4.6), that a subscription belongs to the Account that bought it and cannot be shared or restored into another Account (new 4.7), and that a Child's messaging in Kids Mode works only while a parent has an active subscription (4.5 and 13). AI (Section 5): corrected 5.2, which said court order PDFs are sent to Anthropic: the text is read on your device, NRIC/FIN numbers, email addresses, and +65 phone numbers are removed there, and the PDF never leaves your device; added Kin's optional calendar access to 5.3; added new 5.8 covering receipt, quote, and proof-of-payment reading and calendar note checks. Calendar: added the shared calendar and to-dos to the Kids Mode description (Sections 2 and 13) and a responsibility about copies in your phone's calendar (Section 6). Payment requests: added new Section 15, including that Cochild is not a payment service provider and does not hold or move money. Contact Us is now Section 16.
- 1.11 (24 October 2026) — Wording changes only; no change to scope, consent, or what data is shared. Added "Shared Record" to Section 1.1 (the single record that links both parents and their Children in the Application) and used it in place of "family record" in Sections 2, 5.2 and 13. Reworded the Singpass subsection of Section 2 to say that verification is optional and encouraged, and can be used instead of email verification when linking to a co-parent's Shared Record. Replaced "your family's situation" with "your situation" in Section 5.3, and reworded the Welfare Signal definition.
- 1.10 (19 October 2026) — Added Section 5.7, "Not Medical, Mental Health, or Legal Advice", stating generally that nothing in the Application — AI-generated content, the Harmoniser score or its indicators, wellbeing check-ins, or any other feature — constitutes medical, mental health, or legal advice, and that any legal action or health concern is the user's own responsibility to take to a qualified professional. This broadens the existing legal-advice statement in Section 5.5 and the crisis-specific statement in Section 5.3 into one general disclaimer; both of those sections are otherwise unchanged.
- 1.9 (4 October 2026) — Added an "Identity Verification with Singpass" subsection to Section 2, covering when verification is requested, that it is optional except when linking to a co-parent's family record, that Singpass is operated by GovTech under its own terms, that Cochild never sees Singpass credentials, and a pointer to the Privacy Policy for what is retrieved and how it is used. Section 4 and Section 14 are unchanged.
- 1.8 (4 October 2026) — Restored Section 4 as "Subscriptions and Billing" (price, free trial, auto-renewal, cancellation and refunds via the App Store or Google Play, regional pricing, and the Kids Mode exclusion), reversing the v1.7 removal. Added a new "Apple-Specific Terms" section (Section 14) containing Apple's minimum terms for a custom EULA, required for App Store distribution. Added a sentence to Section 5.3 (Kin) naming Anthropic as the processor of Kin messages, matching the Privacy Policy. Renamed the subscription from Cochild Premium to Cochild Monthly throughout Section 4. Rewrote the Section 4 intro to state that the subscription covers all parent-facing features (Kids Mode Accounts remain free) and that each parent or guardian requires their own separate subscription. Contact Us is now Section 15.
- 1.7 (2 October 2026) — Removed the Subscriptions and Billing section (the section number is kept as reserved) until a paid plan is offered. Corrected statements about who can access message content, and that court order PDFs are processed by Anthropic and are not kept in a document vault. Reworded the Welfare Signal definition to state that it does not exist yet. Added in-app re-consent for material changes and a term on entering co-parent details. Added the Unfair Contract Terms Act to the liability clause. Renamed the AI assistant from AiKin to Kin.
- 1.6 (18 September 2026) — Added a Subscriptions and Billing section covering the price, free trial, auto-renewal, and cancellation terms for Cochild Premium, and clarified that a subscription is tied to the parent's or guardian's Account and cannot be purchased, changed, or cancelled from a Kids Mode Account.
- 1.5 (16 September 2026) — Added a dedicated Children's Data and Kids Mode section covering what is collected, who can see it, our consent basis, and how to request deletion or access on a Child's behalf; corrected the approximate location radius from ~500 metres to ~3 kilometres and clarified that a Child's current location is kept only while sharing stays enabled.
- 1.4 (4 September 2026) — Added disclosures for Kids Mode Accounts, Child Location, the Kin AI assistant, and Email Hub.
- 1.3 (2 May 2026) — Initial publication.
